About PGA Golf Club - Wanamaker Course (Port St Lucie, FL)
A classic Florida layout, Tom Fazio's Wanamaker Course (South), is set against a backdrop of wetlands, palm trees, and palmettos. The course is considered as one of Florida's most beautiful courses and is currently ranked #21 in the State by Golf Digest. In typical Fazio style, the premium is on the tee shot to set up a good approach to the well-guarded greens. Along with the Ryder (North) Course, this was the first 36-hole facility ever owned and operated by the PGA. Located in Port St. Lucie, 45 minutes north of West Palm Beach - just minutes north of Stuart, right off I-95 and the Florida Turnpike.

WAnnmaker seemed older than the Ryder and Dye. I played and enjoyed Dye and Ryder prior to Wannamaker. Wannamaker just seemed as if it was a "municipal course" by comparison.

we got there, had lunch, warmed-up on the driving range etc., . . we had a 2pm tee-time, and the course was absolutely empty, so we asked if we could go off about 15 minutes early . . . they said we would have to pay a premium rate to do so . . . again, the course was e-m-p-t-y, we were the only ones there, and they wouldn't let us tee-off 15 friggin' minutes early as a courtesy . . . that might help explain why nobody was on the course . . . did I mention it was empty? we saw no one all day . . . on a PGA course . . . the golf was terrific, but we won't be back . . .

We loved all 3 courses and would absolutely play them again. The only negative would be that the courses were extremely dry due to the lack of rain in the area, but a very minor complaint. Wannamaker was my favorite
