This Arthur Hills-designed course is located west of Brooksville, just 20 minutes south of Crystal River. When it opened in 1988, Golf Digest named it one of Florida's "Best New Courses." Since then, it has been ranked in the "Top 100 Public Courses in the U.S". The fairways (none of them parallel) are gently rolling and bordered by all types of native trees and foliage while sandy waste areas protect numerous elevated greens. Course designer Scott Pate, of Seaside Golf Development, has done wonderful work on the new course at Hernando Oaks. The layout wanders through beautiful Florida countryside and was designed with a sense of fairness in mind. The fairways tend to be wide and forgiving, but there's just the right amount of water to keep your attention. Your score will be determined mostly on how well you handle the elevated and undulating greens. You'll find Hernando Oaks about 45 minutes north of Tampa in the town of Brooksville.

This great new track captures the essence of the fabulous South course in every aspect, and even boasts greater elevation changes, divergent of traditional Florida courses. In fact, on a clear day players can see for nearly five miles to the northeast from the second tee! Intimidating. Enjoyable. These two words don't often go hand in hand, but they accurately describe the Pine Barrens course at World Woods. Ranked #26 on Golfweek's list of "America's Best Modern Courses for 2006," this Tom Fazio design has been receiving accolades since it opened in 1991. It's perennially ranked among the nation's top courses by Golf Digest and has been called "Florida's Pine Valley." The course features large fairways framed by expansive waste bunkers and towering pines (hence the comparisons to Pine Valley).

Although built right next door, the land occupied by Rolling Oaks provides a stark contrast to that at Pine Barrens. Here you'll find huge oak trees draped with Spanish moss within a landscape reminiscent of Augusta National (including Azaleas!). The course features beautiful rolling fairways and well-defined bunkers with bright white sand. Fazio's mindset must have been completely different when designing both courses, but the end results are nothing less than spectacular. Particularly enjoyable are the great par-three holes at Rolling Oaks.
