Named for its designer, Arnold Palmer, The Palmer was dedicated on February 28, 1984. Its design is reminiscent of the Scottish links tradition. Undulating fairways, grass bunkers and a double green shared by the 8th and 12th holes recall golf's old world heritage. Originally laid out by Tom Fazio and redesigned by Jack Nicklaus in 1990, the Champion has played host to some of golf's biggest events including the 1983 Ryder Cup, the 1987 PGA Championship and the PGA Seniors' Championship from 1982-2000.
